There are any number of people who try to find more respectable or glamorous titles for the mundane jobs they hold.

1. mundane [ˋmʌnden] (adj.) ordinary and not interesting or exciting, especially because of happening too regular

    mundane activities/ tasks/ matters

    (adj.) [ formal ] relating to the world and practical matters instead of religious or spiritual ones

    mundanely (adv.)

It may seem incongruous to call an undertaker a “condolence counselor,” or to refer to a taxi driver as a “transportation expediter,” but some prefer those titles.

2. incongruous (adj.) strange because of being very different to other things which happen or exist in the same situation

3. condolence[kənˋdoləns] (n.) [ plural ] the things that you say to show sympathy when someone has just died

    Example: We offer our condolences to David and his family on their tragic loss.

4. counselor  [ˋkaʊns!ɚ] (n.) someone whose job is to give advice and help to people with problems

The word “expired” is a euphemism for “died.”

5. expire (v.) if an agreement, offer, or official document expires, the period of time during which it exists or can be used comes to an end

    Example: The loan offer is due to expire this week.

    Example: Your contract expires at the end of the month.

    Example: My passport expires in a month.

    expiry (n.) the end of a period of time during which an agreement, offer, or official document exists or can be used

    expiry date (n.) the date on which something can no longer be used or is no longer safe to eat

    Example: We need the expiry date on your credit card.
